Are you sure thats spotted gar your catching in Maryland?

To the OP unless you catch a spotted gar its Highly unlikely that you will find one in an LFS. Florida Gar are what you will find 99.9% of the time even though most of the time they will be Labeled as Spotted. But yes Floating Vegetation with not a lot of obstacles such as drift wood and rocks.
