I'm setting up a 210 and will be having a closed loop running up the back of the tank. What's the recommend distance the tank should sit way from the wall.

Thanks

So the question is do you want to be able to squeeze back there... I would suggest you make it so you can. Yes it will take up a lot more space, but honestly you never know when you want to be able to get to the back of your tank. Say you manage to spill water, or you want to put on a HOB filter or whatever, it just is smart to make enough room for you to fit behind the tank.

Leave about 4-5 inches. You will be able to reach behind it pretty easily, and fit a HOB if you want.

That is what I did before... with my 250. Then while doing sump work I managed to spill water. And of course I couldn't really reach it very easily. (I am a 6 foot tall guy...)

As for HOB, for an AQ110, 5 inches will have it leaning on the wall... But if you really are strapped for space then go that route.

I left a good foot in back of my 8 foot long 300 gal so I can get back there

Call me crazy but I put mine as close as I could to the wall, but all of my filtration runs through the wall behind the tank.
