I'm wanting to put a tank divider in my 55g tank to separate my ghost, cherry, and Crystal shrimp from my blood parrot and albino bristle nose pleco. The store bought dividers are so tacky. I want it to not be very noticeable. Should I use plexy glass or acrylic? Also, which one is cheaper?

I had the same problem a few months ago. To me plexiglass and acrylic are the same thing.
you will need a 1/4 thick piece of plexiglass. i made 1/4in holes every 2in. this cost me around $20 but it worth it and looks 300% better than the cheap ones you can get from the petstore.

Can you post a pic of yours? Did you have to cut a notch out in the plastic lip of the aquarium to get a snug fit? I don't want my shrimp to be able to cross through to the other side. I'm keeping my cherry and Crystal shrimp as pets and hopefully getting my ghost shrimp to make me lots of babies for feeders.
