Well My Tems (and RTC) aren’t going to stop growing anytime soon, and I Just obtained 4 more Tems courtesy of Matt (JuanTamad), so some re-arranging needed to be done. I don’t want to stick the Tems in the pond yet as I want them in “Tank View” as long as possible…The RTC will have to very soon though…I’ve been reluctant with him too…lol.

This was my 150 before:

I decided to remove a few of the inhabitants, and a bit of the driftwood and plants to optimize swimming space. Some Silver dollars, Oscars, NGT, ARTC, and 2 Tems came out. I left the larger 2 Tems in this tank, and added in the Larger 2 from Matts. The remaining 4 Tems, additional fish and driftwood/plants went to the 125. I also decided to take advantage and do a 40% water change as I usually only top off evaporated water...background came off too so that I could clean the back glass from all the splashings during feeding ;) ….

Water change:

As you can see the water was still blurry from the water change…was nice and clear this morning.

The 125…its night time, so they aren’t all swimming about…

ARTC hiding:

Btw, the pics are deceiving …the larger Tems in the 150 are 12”-13”, and the RTC is about the same…the 4 tems in the 125 are 11”-12” the ARTC is about 8”.

Nice tanks! You only top off water with all those big eaters in there? How are you parameters then? Or do you have a drip system? How's the combination gar/tems going? Any problems?

Yeah he's getting to that size...If he really wanted to he could take down the TSN, and Clowns...I keep him nice and happy with Catfish and Tilapia Nuggets...he's going to the pond very soon though. BTW, yes thats a Dat...its a 7" NGT...he darkened up during the water change...

Yup...I rarely do water changes...I just make sure that all the filtration is up and going well...just stay on top of changing the filter media. Water params are never a problem...Ammonia is at 0, and Nitrites and Nitrates are in a safe range...yesterday was actually the first time I even checked them in a while. I keep the temp warm at about 85º-86º minimum constantly, and my pH is actually pretty high for amazon guys...about 8. The gars dont mess with anyone and eat everything from pellets to krill, to bloodworms, chunks of tilapia and of course feeders. The Tems don't even look at them except for occasionally stealing a feeder from them, but the gars have learned to avoid the tems at feeding time. I also have a couple of airstones in the wet dry...My main thing is lots of Oxygen and a warm temp..

BTW, you see the difference in the RTC from the first pic to the ones from yesterday...its only been 2 months in between!

good looking tank and fish

wow i would really watch that RTC and keep it well fed or you might lose the TSN and some clown loaches
