Anyone got any hints for me on How to remove that busted top frame from a tank? I plan to replace it with some sortve thing to keep the tank seems from opening.

Got a picture? If it is just the plastic rim type a razor and some patience will work.

oh heres a pic, it looks like a woodgrain plastic.

Thats difficult to get off...start tearing at the seams with a razor....juts out of curiosity, are you taking it off because a corner split? because if thats the case there is an easier way to fix it.

No part of the lip where a hood would sit got warped awhile ago an ended up getting all wavey, cracked an broken.

gotcha

Whats broken? If its the center brace I have 2 55g that were given to me with the center brace melted thru in the middle I cut a piece of plexi to bridge the gap and screwed it together with stainless steel machine screws.
If its broken on the corner you should be able to get a razor blade between the glass and plastic cut around it carefully and pull it off.Its just glued on with silicone.

No center brace, its a 20gal L

I fixed a the broken center brace on my old 55 with marine epoxy before I sold it. Its the inside area of the top tank frame.
