tank glass

does anyone know what size tank i could build safely with 1/8" glass
i have 2 peices of glass 13"x 68" and was thinking about building say a 30 gal tank out of it. Mostly want to do this for practice for when i build my 180 gal monster tank.

any help would be great.

I'm not sure, but 1/8" sounds too thin for much of anything. You sure that's the correct thickness of what you have?

I dont think the glass in my 29 is any thicker than 1/8", but ive never measured it

my 10 is 1/8th, my 20 tall is 1/8th, and my 29 is 3/16th

Just measured: My 30g has 1/4" glass... My 10g has 1/8 glass...

I would not build a 30g with 1/8, you're looking for trouble. You could have a look at the GARF website tho.

btw cyclop went to garf first, no help you could be building a 2 gallon tank and it would say 1/4 inch glass

THICKNESS MATTERS TOO

Might be cheaper to buy a large glass tank than to build it....and can sleep better instead of wondering if it will hold and for how long....
