Tank heater

I just bought a spotted gar and i was wondring if i really need a tank heater,because i live in fl just wondring?

gar do better in warmer water. i keep mine at 80. if your water is that warm than no u dont need 1. if not you might want to consider it

A heater would keep the tank temp more stable also

obviously being native they can handle colder water, but a heater is good for them. i keep my tank at 84 with my pbass and the gar seems quite happy.

Get a heater..unless you keep your house at 80*
