How Important is the hieght of a tank?? I can get a 150g 6'x2'x20" for $300, or I can get a 180g 6'x2'x2' for abt $420. (these are tank only prices)I am buying one or the other after the the first of January.

Personally I like a tank with a 24" height an wouldnt go higher. But thats me.

Yeah, but the second isnt that much bigger than the first one. I mean, its a 120 dollar drop off. I would go with the first one based on price, second based on size. :D

:iagree: Plus the 150 will be as visually pleasing as the 180 if they arent sitting side by side...

$120 will seem like nothin after a few years!!! Go bigger less regretts

:iagree: ... bigger is ALWAYS better. There is more water so it's easier to control the parameters. I also personally wouldn't go taller than 2' cos it would be too much of a mission getting to the bottom of the tank.

Im prob going to go with the 180, the 2' might be better for an arowana. That is if an arowana would work with a couple Pbass and a oscar :naughty:

Yep !! he is right!! :grinyes:

When it comes to height it depends on what kind of fish you are planning to house. Some fish like arowanas may not need the height while others such as pacus may need the height. The important thing is the thickness of the tank. The higher the tank the thicker the glass/acrylic have to be.

its on;y a difference of 4'' so it really doesn't matter bigger is better or for the extra $120 bucks you could get a whole other 55 or a coulpe 29. i would get a longer tank if you have more to spare.
