We have a 6x2x2 tank without a complete hood (yet!) to house a silver aro. I'm not sure as to how to integrate good access, good lighting, good evaporation prevention and good "jump defense"!.

Any suggestions/diagrams/piccies would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what type of lighting would be best-standard 6ft tropical tube x 2?

Cheers,

Lisa

I typically use glass to cover my tanks. Though for an aro it should be thicker and weighted down. Leave no holes for escape whatsoever.

Heres my Aro tank I have the glass lids with the 1 peice strip light and a 4x8Lumber going right across the top its not pretty but better safe than sorry.

:ROFL:Your tank is an electricians nightmare.

Seriously, I've got the same size tank and glass lids, but I just put a bit rock on each of the flip doors. It makes it much easier to open the doors for feeding. It also allows me to put a canopy over the the tank to hide all the "mechanicals"

I don't get it....am I being thick or summat?:screwy:

Took me a sec too...the electrical panel is right behind the tank lol.
