I'm thinking about building a tank that is 10' long X 5' wide X 5' tall.

I plan on getting a silver arowana, 10-20 discus, 2 rays, shovelnose catfish, and a BGK. I can increase the width and depth of the tank if need be.

I would use 5-7 fluval 305 to filter the tank.

thoughts???

I think your filtration is way off. If you used canisters at all, i think you would be best with FX5's. However, for this size setup, i think a sump would be most appropriate.

I would think the 5 foot depth is completely unnecessary. 3 feet would be more than enough for the fish you plan to keep.

Yeah dude, if your gunnu have a tank 5 feet tall and 5 feet deep, and your longest fish is 30", I think you're good space wise....

I'm diggin the 10x3x3

use fluval 405's theyre bigger! :)

Well I want the five foot footprint for the stingrays. Ya filtration was my biggest blank on as I've never done anything of this size. I wanted a 5 foot depth so that the fish would have more space. It adds more of a top, middle, bottom gradient. The five foot width is more for the rays.

What are you making the tank out off?
Well I'm building a house and I've been saving for something like this so I was going to get it done prfessionally. Tgings that I build tend to sort of break.
