I am thinking of adding a 150+ gal tank to my garage and keeping fish that tolerate cold water. I live in the middle of Ohio and the winters get near zero degrees and summers get near one hundred degrees. Anyone have any exp. with this?
Im in the same boat. I was told bullheads and bluegill would be the few that would work.Bowfin were also mentioned. I wonder about longnose gar. They live from mexico to canada so they can handle different temperatures. There was one thread discussing them in cold water.
im not sure how cold a garage gets when its subzero outside (i am also in ohio), but i would be a little concerned about the water freezing, which would obviously expand and split your tank
