has anyone put a tank between two rooms sharing an internal wall so that the tank is viewable from both rooms? i have an attached garage that was turned into the main living room of our house and on the other side of our wall is another living room. there is a split in the floor levels because the garage is on a concrete slab and the house has a crawl space under it accessible through the garage wall. I have an idea about cutting a "window" in the wall and building a plywood tank with viewing windows from either room. In one room the tank would be at about the same level as most standard tank/stand combos but in the garage lr it would start at about upper chest level (maybe 4.5') and the top would be about 7 foot. I was thinking i could make the tank about 2 foot wide so that about half the tank would stick out in one room and have a stand under it, but this concerns me because as it settles it may bend the tank. If the stand side was in the garage lr it would rest on concrete, but it would be a really tall stand. I have no experience building a tank and my wife will kill me if i put a hole in our wall and the tank doesn't work so any ideas ahead of time will be highly beneficial. Let me know what you think. I drew something up, but it was quick and in paint.
