currently my tank is set up in the garage and geting ready to cycle, it maintains 84 degrees all day and night will this be to hot to keep fish in tho, as i was thinking of leaving it in the garage for now

Depends on the kind of fish your keeping. My SA's love it warm like that. What is your stock?

im planning on some tetras and corys and some keyhole cichlid growouts until i get a pair and it will eventualy be planted

Honestly I have done worse. Others can and will disagree with me though. IMO your fine. If you much higher than that I would start getting concerned. You BB will love the extra heat anyway.

I was gonna say it should cycle pretty quick at that temp given proper oxygenation. I cant say for certain those fish will be ok but there are precautions against heat you can take. (Frozen water bottles)
My favorite is a light diffuser top on the tank with fans blowing on the surface.

yes i was considering removing the sealed glass lids and using the light defusing panels the garage door is opened most of the day as theres always someone home

I would say do your research- keyhole cichlids perfer little bit cooler temperature 84 degrees is pushing it.... same with certain species of tetras, cories- some are very comfortable in 68-74 degree water while others gotta have it hot like the discus or the zebra pleco.

Be careful and research on what the species you want to go into there. I'm not sure about keyholes they're excellent south american fish though-

the cories might not like it much.. and depending on what type of tetras they also might not like it.. as for the keyholes ive never kept them so i can only copy/paste what they like..

Dissolved oxygen is lower in higher temps... be sure and add plenty of powerheads, airstones, etc. to oxygenate the water at all levels, not just the top. I wouldn't keep cories in a tank over eighteen inches tall at temps this high, or at all, really. Cories are air breathers, and struggle to get to the top to breathe in tanks over eighteen inches.

If the tank is 84*F in September... what's it going to be like next June?
