I like the dark look. Very cool.

Your flowerhorns get along well with each other and the other fish?

yes. all the big fish are female...the small are males. and that my friend is no coincidence ;)

Very cool. Thinking of getting a flowerhorn myself but my only doubt is their supposed inability to get along with other fish.

What size tank do you have?

125g. different factors determine how the fish will get along. i have alot of hiding spots and visual barriers. plus many fish to disperse aggression. also, these fish are being raised in a community setting.

if you have a fish that was raised by itself it will get extremely nasty if you place it with others.

Yeah I was hoping to get one as a baby. I've never had bad experiences when I've raised something from being small. ..
But good job by you!
You are doing something right that many others have not done.

I agree 100%. I know there are, of course, exceptions, but I do the same thing. I have many fish that aren't "supposed"to be together, but if you look at temperament and get young-ins, and let them grow around others used to that setting, then it can work. They tend to show a bit of respect.

i just scooped up a con x parrot hybrid and a baby tex as well.

Very cool. I love blood parrots.. Hybrids are VERY neat. I want to get a kirin parrot eventually.
