My African Cichlid office tank is showing signs of more than one illness!

- Ich for sure
- Maybe internal parasite

I am new to ACs but I have had years of experience within the aquarium hobby. For Ich I like to use Kick-Ich. Great results from past use and its easy with no fear of overdosing.
The internal parasites are new to me. I have seen just a little stringy poop. I don't really see any sunken bellies....but maybe just a slight concaveness on a few. I have one Peacock that is not eating at all and hangs out a the top or bottom. Every now and then he will swim around just a bit.

So the main question. HOW DO I TREAT BOTH!!! Kick-Ich says nothing about being used on internal parasites. I don't know if I can/should mix medications.

Side notes: Quarantine is not an option. This tank is in my office at work.
Water paramaters are all good. Zeros with a PH of 7.6 - 7.8

Thanks for any help!

For the one who is lurking...you have aggression in your tank. Change up the stocking.

For the ich...whatever you like. I like heat/salt, but as long as your fish and bacteria tolerate the medicine, no reason not to use it.

Well my lurking Peacock has gone to fish heaven. Physically there were no signs of injury...really no signs of anything. I decided to dissect him to look for any signs internally. Nothing obvious like worms, all I noticed was a completely empty stomach. Could have been a waste of time but if figured it could maybe show me something.

I have very minimal aggression in the tank. Typical small chase here and there but its scattered and not directed at one particular fish. No one has even looked at the sick Peacock. Even before he was sick. He was one of the larger fish in the tank at about 4-4.5".

I really like Kick-Ich and turning the heat up to 82 F. After four days and two doses the fish are showing signs of clearing up. The Ich was minimal to start with but I am happy to see progress.

I spoke with one of my local LFS. They have 20+ years of experience with ACs and Marine. She told me that Kick-Ich wouldn't cause any issues with another medication. Also that treating without 100% proof of internal parasite wouldn't be a bad idea. She suggested API General Cure. I grabbing that today.

I will try to keep everyone updated. Wish me luck!

The fish will not choose the location under the surface unless the fish is feeling harassed and intimidated.

Aggression is often not observed.

If you want to avoid a reoccurrence with another fish, remove promptly when you see them lurking. It might take another month for this to happen.
