Well, I found that my filter was clogged and was not doing it's job properly. So when I went and got the water tested the nitrates were high as anything.... All in all, it was one horrible week. Lost five angels, a black kuhli, and every last neon. I could kick myself. I should've looked at the filter when the first angel died..but everything had seemed fine. Grr..... it just really ticks me off, they were all very nice angels, and I had the sweetest little Kuhli, the little guy was so friendly too. I check every dead fish, no scales missing, frayed or nipped fins, blood, or anything...they just slowly succumbed to the horrid water. Well, just wanted to let you all know that...I said I would kick myself if I found out anything was wrong with my water, and trust me, I kicked myself HARD. Learn from my mistakes, I make plenty of 'em.

Sorry to hear that, Silver Crescent.:( At least, you're more prepared than before.

Take stock and learn from the experience, sorry for the loss

That's a tough one...when something goes wrong with fish, the first thing we need to remember is Water...we take care of the water and the fish will take care of themselves...

Sorry for your losses...

Hooray for your new found wisdom...

if it was high enough in nitrates enough to kill maybe u should be WC more.................................

I do them weekly...fyi, and had done one the week before as usual.
So doubt it's that. Maybe something funky with the water around here?

I tell you what man, I have taken to checking my water at the tap. I noticed a couple really odd readings on my reef tank. I checked the tap 40ppm no3 right out of it. Also high po4. I do the same water checks at the tap a week later and no3 is 5ppm and 0 po4. That could be your issue. Maybe call your water treatment plant and find out their chemical dosing schedule. Or check tap water before each change. That's what I am doing with the exception that the reef now only gets rodi water
