hello, i just filled my tank up today (2nd hand one) and it has a leak in the back bottom corner. It is one of those cracks where the glass is hit from the bottom, then cracks in a circle shape.... it is very slowly leaking from here, like 1 drop every 5 minutes.
Is there a quick fix way to fix the crack? like superglue on the outside etc? it can be temporary too s any suggestions would be good. i just dont want to empty the whole tank again to fix this leak....then have it take another week to dry the silicone!
Cheers!

There is some glue that is fish safe and can be cured underwater available, but i wouldnt trust it.....I would almost say ditch that tank and use it for reptiles.....either that or replace the bottom glass.....I dont think there is a "Safe" way to fix it. It could be a HUGE problem in the future.

its only a small leak, the crack is about 1cm long. I doubt that could be bad in the future. If i could out something on the outside that would fix it that would be cool. like duct tape or plumbers tape?

I still think the crack would grow:( I wouldnt trust it but keep us updated on what you find out!

Dr fosters and smith has a glue they claim to cure underwater.

I don't see what the hassle would be to drain out a 35gal to make a sturdy repair of the tank. But, if you're set to do this wet, get some Aquastik epoxy putty (petsolutions.com). It's non-toxic, sticks to glass, and cures underwater.
Push the gravel away from the area of the crack, take a razor blade and trim away the excess silicone sealer along that seam to 1/4"-1/2" on either side of the crack. Roll out a 1/4" thick bead of the epoxy and press it into the seam. Don't push the gravel back until after the full curing time (or some of the gravel will become permanent parts of the tank).

I agree with the ideas on here, but make sure you do a good job, that happened to me and everytime I re-sealed the tank or my friend did it leaked a few days later (guess I am not a handy person), I went to the home depot like store and bought aquarium safe/fish safe sealent. keep an eye on it and good luck =)
