Haven't been on as much as previous years but figured I should jump on and tell about my 125 having a leak. My roommate was taking care of the tank while I was up at the lake for the night. He really dislikes watching my tanks because anything and everything bad that could happen does when he is in charge. Well Friday night / Saturday morning at 1:30 am my roommate is playing videogames and hears water leaking. Turns around to see water leaking out quickly from the front left seam. Thankful it didn't blow and he drained the tank immediately. He got all the fish into a plastic tub and had an aerator and heater going. Dropped the fish off the next morning at a local fish store. All things considered didn't lose any fish yet and no one was injured. Still don't get why the seam split had looked at it a couple days before and looked perfect but aquariums are weird. Now it's time to shop for a new tank for my monsters while my bigger tank is finished. Better check all them seams lol.

Man, glad your buddy was there to fish sit! Very glad to hear that all fishes were saved. This could of been a disastrous mess if no one were there. All work out, and good luck on your new tank.

Wow! Hate to have this happen to anyone, but you sure are lucky your friend handled it like he did. I couldn't imagine 125gal of tank water on the floor. I had a 29g and 55gal leak on me and that was unpleasant enough.

Sorry this happened to your tank but wow such a awesome roommate you have! So glad to hear all your fish are safe sorry again for your tank mate!

Been there, I woke one morning for work stepped into the living room into a puddle of water.
150 gallon saltwater reef tank leaked during the night.
Lost everything.

Is your tank glass? I would imagine starts small with slow link, rather than "leaking quickly" - not that I have had first hands experience. Sounds like it worked out as best as it could considering what happened. Good thing your roommate was around, eh.

Tank is glass the seam leaked about 2/3 of the seam. I didn't see it but apparently he had 3 hoses almost immediately into it draining the tank. I'm just thankful it didn't actually blow since the tank was directly behind him. He handled it like champ but has stated he is done tank sitting.
