I am getting the "itch" to start a third tank. I have the perfect spot to put a tank up to 8 feet long. The problem is the floor. I have a very old house, with original hardwood floors.
As long as the tank is flat on the stand should I shim any high spots between the stand and floor or lay down some plywood to place the stand on? With my 90 gal I had one low spot in the floor that I shimmed, but with a huge tank I'm a bit concerned.....

Just do the same thing with a bigger tank. As long as it is close to level you are fine. Just make sure to not just focus ont he corns and shim everywhere it needs it. The longer stand will give you a longer gap.
