Almost ever since went from my 55g to my 120g I have had problems. I run my 55g w/ two penguin 350's and a heater. Tank levels are always good and it seems as if I never lose a fish in that tank. But in my 120g my levels are good as well ammonia 0, nitrates 0, ph 7.4 and a temp of 84. I do weekly w/c(about 30%)..Im running a penguin 350 and an fx5 as well. I have a couple airstones supplied by a rena pump for up 150g. For some reason in my 120g everything will seem fine but then I'll have fish that all of a sudden start having seizures and eventually die. Im almost tempted to just drain the 120 and say forget it for a while....Im lost...Ive lost 3 of my 5'' mono peacock bass in the last 2 days. They were in the 120g for almost 2 weeks....now the last 3 are in the 55g and appear to be much happier.

PLease help fellow mfk'ers..I love my fish and dont wanna shut down my 120g

Tank has been running since march 08. Nitrates are at 0. Ive put almost all of my 120g tank stock in other tanks...puttin the rest of them in others tommorow. Im tearing this tank down. Cleaning everything....cleaning all my filter sustrate, fx5 hoses etc....filling it back up and im gonna cycle it for a good 2 weeks empty if possible.

THanks zoodiver for looking into this thread.

Sounds to me like the 120g wasnt fully cycled yet..
Once you rebuild it, and fully cycle the tank, you may want to add stock to the tank slowly and not put alot of fish in there all at once..

Would it have still not cycled even after running it for so long....and ya i jumped the gun and added fish the first day I set it up.....COuld this be my problem?

yep...cycle it with some convicts or something that can become either food for the future occupants or you don't mind losing. at least two weeks for a good cycle.

So ya say two weeks....And wouldnt it be better to have absoultely nothing in there for 2 weeks? Im gonna use all the same substrate(just gonna clean it, some is less than a week old). So should I leave it empty for two weeks cycling or throw in my pleco?

No, just get a fish you are not worried about losing or food for pbass as if it is empty there will not be anything for the bacteria to feed on.
