I might be getting a 60 gal tank and I am am going to take many photos whent it has fish in it and will be competing in tank of the month so want to know what would be the best lighting.

I personally love the look of a 10,000K bulb and 50/50 6500K/actinic combo. The 10,000K gives off a nice clean white light and the actinic helps make certain fish colors stand out.

My 55g is lit with a $13 shop light from Lowes. Its solid black so it really fits in with the tank/stand I have.

Anything under 100g I use shop lights from Home Depot.........Shop lights are bright and save tons of money.........

10k metal halide. Will give the sunlight shimmer effect, will show your fishes true color and great for taking pictures.
