Tank Lighting

does tank lighting affects flowerhorn's color?
What I mean is that when I just have the natural day light (which is indirectly hitting the tank) and blue LED, my flowerhorn has a nice and vibrant red and black color together with his pearls. But when I use a pink LED light his color fades.

That light might stress him out, if it has a dimmer try to find a happy medium for him. FH fade and intensify with their mood and health.
