Mmk! So, I came across a site that had a 400 gallon aquarium they could make and a 405. They're both 96L 24W and 48T

So I went to a local aquatic store, they told me a setup of that size inside aquarium only would be closer to 500 gallons between 450 to 480 gallons.

So now I'm a tad confused. Anyone know any good aquarium makers they can suggest so I can look at their 400s or talk to them about a 96x24x48? Or know the correct gallons? I feel miss led if a maker said its 400 but experienced fish keepers say other wise and show me a equation explaining it.

Also I'm on a mobile blackberry torch 2, so I have trouble just browsing so feel free to link me to things!

Okay now if I had a 96 24 48 setup, what would be a good way of filtering it? I intend a nice cabinet under it mayve 2ft tall 2 and half and a nice top to fit atop the setup as well. So bc of the cabinet I'd like a really good filtr system, someone told me echo something echo media I'd have to reask but it has plants in it and to get several big ones under the aquarium. Anyways suggestions?

Also species may help for waste etc info I haven't picked them all but I decided on a african cichlid themed tank!

Anyways please and thank you for your help, advice, links, etc!

But you also need to know that most tank manufactures give you the outside measurements so you loose some volume. I deduct the thickness of the glass or acrylic. 94x22x47 @ 1" thick as most 48" tall tanks are 1" or thicker. True volume of 420 gallons.

wow, only took a little less then 11 months for this thread to get a response
