Hi Guys,

I have a 65 gallon, with 6 baby l066 plecos (for a future breeding project)

I was wondering what tank mates I could keep with them (preferably tank mates which could live and breed with the plecos around and vice versa)

They hide most of the day, and I was wanting something that could cheer up my "empty looking" tank and could breed fine with the plecos. Thanks

School of tetras would be the best option.

Hi David, mate thanks for the time to give me some feedback.

I have had a good think. I know in about 2 years time, I will be actually establishing my side business at my own property and will most likely have multiple tanks.

Saying this, I have decided to keep 5-6 frontosa's around 4-5cm with the l066 plecos. I came to this decision, because I know both the species take around 1.5-2 years (if not more), to sexually mature. After that, I can move the fronts out to their own tank.

I believe in 2 years time the fronts would be fine in a 65 gallon, since most people told me they grow very slowly and once you want to breed them, you would then need to transfer them to a bigger place. This way, instead of having a breeding project instantly, I can make the tank look good, with 6 l066 and 6 fronts as they grow to the correct size in around 1.5-2 years.

What do you think?
