Tank mate for my Redfin

What would be a good tank mate for my 2inch Redfin Pickerel he is currently in a 55 gallon will upgrade to to a 180 gallon when he gets a little bigger...

Um why you want to upgrade a Redfin pickerel to a 180gal tank? He is perfectly fine in a 55gal tank as they do not get larger than 10 inch long. Now about the tankmates for your pickerel...it is really tricky especially at 2". Best thing is let it grow a little bigger before considering tankmates for him.

PLEASE help me i got a lima shovelnose cat fish at like 6in. and an albino clown knife fish thats like 7in. There is two options a 3in or a 6in. redfin pickerel and im not sure the little one could hold his own, should i go with the bigger one? The knife fish is pretty agressive but the cats really chill.
