I'll be getting my 55 gallon in about a month
I will be moving my current cichlids, pleco and cat into it but what others would be compatible with them? How many fish would you guys recommend, etc?

Currently have:
1 Synodontis euptera (5-6 inches)
1 common pleco (5 inches)
1 Metriaclima Callainos
1 Albino Maylandia estherae
1 Maylandia estherae
1 Pseudotropheus lombardoi
1 Albino Metriaclima greshakei
2 Melanochromis auratus

And I may end up returning/selling both of my auratus simply because of the horror stories I have read on here and other sites about how aggressive they can get, and the killing sprees they can go on. :/ Mine aren't showing the aggression yet but they're young.

***** Taking them back tonight. Not going to risk it.

I'd get rid of the common pleco, because most common plecos can get over 12". Some people think they do a great job cleaning but they don't realize that they produce lots of waste, especially when bigger lol...

I'd suggest maybe some labidochromis caeruleus "yellow labs" or pseudotropheus acei "yellow tail" they should get along with your current stock...but the lombardoi may be a problem in the near future, just like the auratus would if you had kept them

The lombardoi is proving to be a pain in the ass, but only since I have added my OB Peacock male. Before then he kept to himself in his cave and would swim around by himself.

The common pleco will be going to my friends tank once it gets a little bigger. He has a 200+ gallon tank, just not big enough to be in there now with the other fish. I would never even consider them anything to do cleaning haha. They are messy and are more interested in knocking plants over and irritating my lace catfish by crowding him every where he goes.
