Anyone have a good suggestions for a Royal Knife in a 75? I'm down for any suggestions but I'd prefer some fish that are a little out of the ordinary. Doesn't mean that they have to be rare and expensive, just not something lame and plain.
Banjo cats arent active at all. Plus, a royal knife will outgrow a 75 quick. They grow so quickly, I've heard of crazy tales of a few inches a month. Why not do something that can actually stay in a 75?
^ Agreed. Mine grew from 2" to 15" in less than a year. That 75 wil be a very temporary home for that knife.
Also when it gets larger it will get very territorial. Mine was fine for around a year and a half with his tankmates, then one day snapped and killed everything. Only survivor was a Dojo Loach, and he was injured by the clown knife pretty seriously.
Id keep him alone until hes in a bigger more permanent tank. Or trade him for something thats more community friendly.
A royal knife will eventually outgrow a 75 gallon. However, with that being said if you are able to upgrade to a larger tank like a 125 or bigger then I would say do multiple types of knife fish or polypterus.
Yeah I had the chance to get a really big Delhz but they just look.....dirty when they're big. I mean, their coloring just gets mottled and dark. Ornates and Endlicheris are still pretty incredible looking at the larger sizes.
