Hi all

I have a 90 gallon corner tank. Currently home to two BPs, an angel fish and two small tetras. They have all lived in harmony for quite a few years. One of the BPs is female, and much larger than the other, she gets a bit aggressive when laying eggs.

I was just wondering if it would be okay to add a few other fish, as it looks a bit empty. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate hearing them.

If not, that’s okay too. Everyone seems happy (and I know the BP could eat the smaller tetras, I just have nowhere else for them to go at the moment, so far, neither BP bothers them).

Wow, kudos to you for not overstocking your tank. 90 gallons is a lot of room for those fish. No wonder it looks empty ? . As the BPs grow your tetras may not last long but you seem to be aware of that.

BPs are semi-aggressive so imo it's best to keep them with medium/large cichlids so the aggression is matched. As the BPs grow they can become very persistent in pecking at other fish so I'd recommend some fish that will stand their ground.

Do you have any pictures of the tank? It helps to visualize it and see the size of the fish

Maybe a school of Cory catfish. Not aggressive and shouldn’t be bothered by the bp’s to much. Maybe a small kind of Gourami would be cool also like the powder or honey.

I thought about Corys once, i love the Panda Cory. But was told it was a bad idea due to their size?

I also had gouramis at one time, my last one just died. I think he got beat up by the larger BP the last time she laid eggs sadly.

My bps look just like yours. Colors too. They are in a temporary 50 with 7sepia tetras, 4 yoyo loaches, a baby socolofi and a 6" common pleco and they get along. All going to a 55 shortly and I'll be adding more fish. Bio load isn't too bad either.
