I want to do a South East Asia biotope but all the templates i researched have no talk about the oddballs and the monsters just the cutesie gouramis, guppies, and other small, and expensive monster fish snacks.the eel is small(4inches) and her current tank mates are a pair of pearl gourami,a beta, and a pair of small clown loaches (2")in a 20 gallon.
I need tank mates other than the loaches help me out! And don't tell me giant gourami either! there gotta be others!

Clown loaches will also outgrow the 20g. Consider a 75g minimum for a small group. I agree with Groove about the fire eel.

Hey groovitudedude what is the puffer in with that fire eel. I would also agree that a 20 is to small for a fire eel, mines in a 140 and ive got plans for a 260

Hey guys this is'nt my first fire eel. This is only my first Southeast Asia biotope. I have a Central african biotope featuring three types of anubius, bolbitis fern, tiger lilies, 4 syndontis, 8 types of bichirs and, a lung fish. They currently reside in a 150g and they are moving to a 240g wide! My first fire eel is about 18 inches grew up in a 55g and now resides in a 125g tank very happy and healthy. I am no amature! Please the question at hand is tank mates for this biotope! Don't worry! I got enough large tanks to start my own L.F.S.! TANK MATES PLEASE! COME ON GUYS! YOUR MY LAST HOPE!LET'S CONCENTRATE ON TANK MATES IN THAILAND,BORNEO,INDIA,MALAYSIA,BURMA,OR SUMATRA! HELL ANY WHERE SOUTHEAST ASIA!

THAT'S USEFUL INFO THANKS!

Yup. I think some T barbs would be cool. Maybe some smaller shark catfish if the tank in question is very large... Kissing gouramis are pretty sweet to, get about eight inches if thats big enough. Let's see what else... A cool array of different loaches would be cool also.

Oh, and let's see some pix of the big tanks ya got running :headbang2
