I have posted another message where I am giving away my GT.

My O is 8 inches TL. He outtgrew the GT since I got them in February - the GT put on 3 inches and the O 6 inches.

I have 3 silver dollars in there with him and the GT which I need to get out of there ASAP.

The O is fairly peaceful with the SDs, I was thinking of putting in either two more or something else.

Given my experience with my GT what else might be compatible. Some kind of bottom dweller? Another Cichlid? (somehow I doubt that would work given my O's temperment).

what I would really like are clown loaches but I just don't see the room with my footprint. Should have gotten that 125 instead of my 90 gal.

i would sit tight where you are. the oscar is going to get huge and the GT will get close. there is not going to be much room in there for anything else after they are full grown.

w/e you get the cichlid needs to be of comparable size. Aggressive o's are a pain in the ass because they are mean... but they are also big.

I would up the SD school to 5 or 6, and then stick to bottom feeders. Some sort of catfish woudl be cool. Maybe some sort of loach. Just make sure you have plenty of hiding spots incase the O gets hungry lol

yo greg..i think you could atleast get one small-middle sized cihlid in there..maybe try a jack dempset cichlid or even a blood parrot.

Did the oscar beat up the GT if not then keep them & the silver dollars in the tank nothing else can reall go in there maybe a pleco or small pim cat.

I've seen a couple battle scars on the GT. It was the GT that used to cause those scars on the O when they were little but the tides have turned.

However the tank is in my living room and the constant chasing and the GT in a panik, run, hide, found, run, hide, found, run, hide, found state is getting a little stressful. It's hard to watch the O bully the GT around consantly. It's non stop.

I don't think the GT gets enough food. He swims up looking out the corner of his eye and usually doesn't show the courage to even take anything (although sometimes he does fortunately).
Choices I've considered:

1. Would a JD or a medium size cichlid be treated any different? Somehow I doubt it. The O has really made my GT his beatch?

2. I really wish I had room to have 3-4 clown loaches but they just wouldn't have room.

3. Some kind of catfish (any suggestions?). I can't stand the poop strings that plecos generate.

4. 2-3 more silver dollars. Stupid and skiddish but funny and a nice addition just the same. Would a couple more increase there schooling behaviour? I think i have a pair if that's possible as they seem to stay together more so than with the other one (although all 3 school a lot together as well).

5. Any other suggestions?

If the GT or JD were bigger they could take care of themselves. So if you could find a slightly bigger one it would be fine. If not, the same thing that is happening ot your GT will probably happen to the JD IMO. The GT is the ***** because it is smaller most likely. Or you just got a wimpy one.

The only catfish I have had personally are raphael catfish and spotted pictus. They are almost complete opposites. Raphael catfish look awesome... too bad they hide CONSTANTLY. I had mine for a year while I was at school and it would only come out if shrimp pellets were placed right in front of its cave. You might have a hard time getting food down to it.

Pictus cats on the other hand are active as hell. They would have NO problem competing for food... once they sense food is in the tank they go bezerk lol.

Usually if you raise the number of schooling fish, they seem to school or interact more.

greg, the problem you;re gonna have now is this; the oscar has already claimed territory, so any fish you add now, will probably be his next victim, you could add a six inch red devil and it would even get bullied, but if i was to try my chances, i would go with a medium sized jack dempsey..they're known to hold there own under alot of circumstances.

Thanks for the advise everyone.

Any more?

question: could a pictus cat be introduced possibly. I'm leaning away from the JD as a medium sized fish would probably be better than one that will eventually be much bioload as my Oscar when full grown.

How much bioload is a pictus cat?
