Hello Members!

I've bought an australian gold arowana from a local pet shop last week. I was surprised how big the community for fish lovers here on MFK.

I just would like to ask for some information for available and recommended tank mates for my arowana.

I also have a flower horn, can I put them together in one tank?

What fish pellets do you recommend for my newest fish?

Thank you so much for the help and more power to MFK! :headbang2

another thing,

my friend told me to visit cartimar in pasay, what certain shop/s should I visit to get new tank mates and arowana food?

thanks again.

The required tank for you arowana alone is 180 gal tank, but it's the opinion of the most, though they don't follow it at all.Tankmates is not preferable because as they tend to get bigger, they get to be more agressive than any other arowanas, and I really don't think that your arowana would be compatible with your flowerhorn if it's bigger because flowerhorns tend to bully to death their tankmates who are smaller than them, so there. It's only my opinion since I have flowerhorns in the province and even small ones fight one another.

There are lots of pet shops in cartimar that you can choose, and there are lots of different varieties of feeders in there as well, but I don't go there anymore because of the price of the gas

What size tank do you have?

Your flower horn should be OK if the tank is big enough and the arowana can't eat it!

What pellets are available there? The faster you can get your aro to eat pellets the better.

Cartimar is HUGE! Expect to spend a good 2 hours (easily!) just to look around. I love Cartimar! It is fish keepers heaven!!

Yeah, it's so huge that you won't regret spending your time by looking to their fishes, but some fishes in there are not properly cared like the 3ft silver that I saw that's in a 4ft tank

i think it a jar :nilly:

yeh your gonna have to find out which australian aro it is, if its a Jardini then your chances of having tankmates is pretty slim, if its a leichardti then go for it cause as far as i can remember, Leichardtis are more receptive to tankmates..
