Always loved the looks of these guys, have seen them for sale a couple of times, and I love the reports regarding personality and aggression however they are pikes. I have some smaller datnoids and clown loaches and was wondering how big should I grow these guys before actively searching for a zebrina, let's say the zebrina is 4" max.

Mine are adults and leave 4 inch satanoperca and angels alone. They did eat my 4 inch pink tailed chalceus. Don't out them with soft rayed fish.

My zebrinas have been model citizens. The only issue I ever had was my older zebrina killing some koi angels I added to the tank on impulse. They were far too large for him to eat, but he bit their faces and just held them down until they suffocated. But I've had tankmates considerably smaller as well as larger with no issues. I think the angelfish incident was isolated.

Thanks everyone. I'm probably going to hold off until late summer or fall to get a little more growth out of my current little guys, the bellycrawler and Johanna I've had in the past were much faster growers than my loaches and datnoids and imagine the same is true with zebrina.
