Tank mates question

Hi all,

Is a wild caught Oscar a good idea for a tank with a 7" Mayan Cichlid? What size is good?
The other mates are 2 13" Red(2) Arowana, 18 Birchirs, 1 11" Datnoid.

The Mayan is rather territorial and I am afraid of fights.

Please advice.

I dont think id risk it. Ive never had an oscar that was mean enough to mess with a mayan. I have a few mayans and they are kept with viejas and a flowerhorn. You could luck out but my largest mayan picks on the flowerhorn thats the same size.

That's what I worry about... My 7" Mayan poke fun of my Arowanas which more than twice its size. But it is scared of the 11" Datnoid.

Oscars also have soft scales so they are easily damaged in a fight.

I wouldn't add another large fish to that tank regardless. You are already overstocked for a 5ft tank.

I aim to sell off one of the 13" red arowana by this week before adding.
