I already have 2 clown loaches in the tank, 75 gallon, with the senegal birchirs.

Since they are all nocturnal for the most part I was thinking of getting 3 daytime fish.

I've read BeBlondies post on compatible mates.

I was thinking an Angelfish, Serevum and Festivum. Though I haven't seen the Festivum at the LFS. In its place maybe a Gourmai.

Would 3 males of different species be okay together or am I looking at territorial issues?

The post said not to get breeding pairs so I'm assuming this is the way she meant us to go.

Could I add more than 3 without overstocking the tank?

Keep in mind I'll probably would like to add another clown loach bring the total to:

3 clown loaches
2 senegal birchirs
1 Angelfish
1 Serevum
1 Festivum/Gourmai
1 ?
1 ?
1 ?

sounds good to me, try it and what about african cichlids or pikes?

the severum will quickly outgrow the other cichlids, and the angelfish will eventually outgrow the festivum.

i'd try an angel and three or so festivum, instead. they tend to be a little more shy and do better (in my experience) in groups.

africans and pike cichlids might be OK depending on species, but the pike (even dwarf) might be more aggressive then the rest of the tank...

bigger rainbows in a group might be nice, too. lots of color, lots of activity...

I thought about rainbows but they are pretty slow growers from my understanding and might become lunch before they reach safe size.

1 Angel and 3 Festivums would work. I'd have to look around for some or order online. Would 3 males be okay, seems like males are more prelevant and colorful, or should I go with 3 females, I'll probably need to order online so I know I'm getting a M or F. I don't want breeding to help limit the aggression.

How bout a couple of ctenopoma? They look pretty cool and they should get large enough to not be eaten by a senegal and they are also predatory fishes.

Those are leaf fish right? I'd defenitley need to order those online.

I heard they are hard to keep and feed.

Also they don't really move around much and the reason I want to add fish is for daytime movement.

ctenopoma were on the list -Anne

I think you're talking about the SA leaf fish like this one http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/leaffish.htm. They only accept live food so are very hard to keep.

The ctenopoma is an anabantid like a gourami and are ambush predators. http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/cteno-ac.htm. Mine actually moves around a lot often searching for food and exploring the tank. They almost glide rather than swim. They are very stealthy swimmers.

I have found that most cichlids accomadate bichers very well. I have kept Oscars, Red Terror, Jags, JD's and pikes with my bichers with no outright aggression.
As long as there is no great size disparity and decent tank size you should be able to chose your personal preference

I agree...I've kept bichirs with all kinds of cichlids from super aggressive types like jags, red devils and red terrors to less aggressive types like jack dempseys, firemouths, honduran red points etc. I would recommend against keeping them with breeding pairs because bichirs can be very inquisitive and might try to get too close to a nest of fry. :)
