Hey everyone I'm going to be starting a 10 gallon tank in a couple weeks to use as a grow out tank for two delhezis. Since I dont want to just set it up and break it down when i move them into a bigger tank I was wondering what other fish would go good in there that wouldnt grow out of the 10 gallon. So i was wondering if there were any fish that wouldnt pick on my growing bichirs that i could throw in. Im not to concerned about them becoming monster food, just want the tank to look nice and such. Thanks in advance!

I personally wouldn't bother. They should outgrow it pretty quick and then you would have to worry about em. There aren't many fish that can live in 10g for life and wouldn't get eaten by a bichir, even a young one. Not to mention the bioload two bichirs would already be putting out. That said Maybe a Dwarf Gourami or two would work.

I agree with Thalan, your dels are likely going to outgrow the 10g quick.

Wait to stock it with 'permanent' residents after you move the dels. I like dwarf puffers, or sparkling gouramis.

yup! gouramis would work. i have one in my bichir tank together with a blood parrot hybrid cichlid.
