tank moving

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How big, and how far are you moving it?

well just moved in a new 260gallon last night. Took three guys with me, we picked it up, made sure we didnt run into anything, loaded in the back of the truck (has camper shell to protect while driving on the road) and then all unloaded it into the storage garage till I get the stand built for it.
its just a get-er-dont kind of thing.. just have to be careful not to hit anything.

Still lookin for one at least 30" wide ( would rather 36 or 46" ). 30"should fit through a door but any wider would be difficult. Just want to get a good game plan. Have moved my 125 several times, but it fits through a door without turning it side ways. You guys/gals with with 36 & 46" wide...whats your secret? Moving with a truck is not a prob. Gettin it into the house will be the challenge. Thanks.

well if its over 36", will be hard unless you have a window you can take out and it will fit thru. Thats the reason I have not been able to get one over 30" wide yet and decided to build my own 400 gallon ponds. I dont have any double doors or any doors I can get a 36" or bigger thru. And Im in a older home rt now, so I dont have wide windows either..

My acrylic tank is 36" wide. We put it up on its side, slide it down one flight of stairs, and put it on its end to make the 90 degree turn into the fishroom. THe tank was well wrapped in fabric by the manufacturer.
A wide glass tank is going to be super heavy. Can you go with acrylic?

Should be ok. Just don't drop it.
