I just got my wife a tanning bed for valentines day. I put it about 10 feet away from my 450g. Does anyone see this as a problem if it's used 10-20 mintues every other day or so? The tank is 2' tall (from 4-6' from the ground) and obviously the bed is much lower. I'm not really worried about algae from it, and I also doubt it could harm my fish, but I wondered if anyone had any experience with this.

Thanks

i dont see a problem unless it gives your fish cancer.

I wouldn't think that an hour or so a week of UV would do a whole lot.. considering that most of them get a lot of sun in the wild..

Actaully the little UV lighting they MIGHT get from the tanning bed wont hurt them I dont think, lol it might actually give them a little tan lol...jk, Im not sure but deson't the UV rays in the sun HELP fish colors?

The little bit of UV light won't hurt them any more than it would hurt you. I believe Levi has the same thing going on.

can uv even pass through glass?

is that uv or is that just the light?
