hi! I got my noodle his next size up tank.
(Silver arowana. Let’s reiterate- NEXT SIZE UP. not final size please don’t yell at me.) but anyway. It’s a 125. Now.
Homeboy I bought it from made the stand himself.
All is lovely and all four corners are touching, as well as all of the sides.
Except for one corner that’s off in the tiniest bit. I mean just barely.

But. I just watched the king of DIY’s video where the tank cracked and now that’s what my nightmares are made of.
This is a HUGE tank for a corner not to be touching. Not to mention substrate, driftwood, and let’s be honest. Noodle hasn’t exactly been watching his girlish figure. So I’m not sure how I fix it or if it’s even necessary. I did the best I could with pics but it’s surprisingly hard to capture.

Side question- in the event a tank DOES crack, I know it’s not fixable without replacing the glass but how would you stop the water momentarily?

Drain it. Only way to stop it.
Pic is hard to tell. Is it off the stand from top to bottom or front to back?
If top to bottom get a piece of foam to cover the top of the stand that will take up the space. I always use foam under my tanks. (Glass)

Hello; May I figure the tank was set up somewhere else before and you have purchased it and have now moved it to a new location?
If so it may be that the floor in the new spot is uneven in different ways than the floor from before. It is my experience that most floors are out of true a bit. It may be that the stand which appears to be made of wood took a "set" at the old place. It may flex enough to reset over time but that is a big risk to take. A worst case scenario might be that the floor in your new place has high or low spots very much different than the old place.
What I am getting at is it may be of value to shim the stand at the floor and to look for a fit of the stand to the floor where it now sits.
Good luck

If it cracks your floor will get wet. If it is a big failure you will have a flood.
If it is a slight crack you may only get a few gallons on the floor if you catch it quick. Some towels and drain the tank. I came home after a three day trip to find water in my basement.Turned out to have come from a tank upstairs which had a seam let go a bit. I was not around to mitigate the damage.

Shim the stand? In the event it is the floor, how do I fix it? Just stick a little piece of wood under it? Will foam work?? Popsicle sticks? As ghetto as that sounds? I bought a 2000 count box (like an idiot) so I have a couple to spare.

A 6 ft. Rubber exercise mat might work. The heavy duty type, used underneath exercise machines.
I had the same problem with my 120 long tank. I fixed the problem by shimming the stand at the affected corner. Might be a good idea to try the shim remedy first.
Note: use the composite plastic shims. Don't shim between the stand and tank, only between the stand and floor.

So is the tank now touching?

I like to use foam around the bottom edges and then shim to level on the bottom.

Not all wood is equal. Lowes etc you have to dig through a whole pile to get a few pieces of straight boards. I like to use higher quality boards for stands, deck supports, or things that general need to be on point.

I moved it to a different part of the floor the gap got smaller which tells me floor. But it can’t stay in the middle of my living room lol. So what’s my best option then?
