I just got home with my tank, and its to big... Wont fit on the stand... Can I fill it up on the carpet? Is that bad? I think it will be okay, but im wondering... Im first floor on apartment.. LET ME KNOW ASAP. thanks

bump!

Well hopes its fine.... Thanks much!!!

Its not too terrible. I have kept a tank on the floor temporarily. You have to watch the temp as the floor tends to be a bit cooler. That being said I think a tank on a stand is better.

What size tank is it? Maybe we could help you with a temp DIY solution.

I would put a piece of plywood under it. Don't put it too close to the wall either as the back edge would be sitting on the tack strip that is under the edge of the carpet.

You could sit a 29gal on a cpl of plastic milk cartons. or stack some cinder blocks and use a sheet of plywood. you can buy a utility shelf from Lowes or Home Depot. The first ones you could cover with some cloth to spruce them up. Your possiblities are almost endless just use some imagination.
