Hey,

Great forum all - been reading as a lurker for some time.

Currently got a 50gal tank that is fully stocked and just treated myself to a small 20gal tank as I always wanted a crayfish ("blue lobster"). I had it cycling for a couple of weeks now with 5 pearl scale danios and the cray. Already down a danio, so my question is what kind of fish can I put in with this cray or would another cray be an idea? Looking for some aggressive ideas that wouldn't out grow the tank!

Its setup with a 1000lph filter (internal) a large piece of bog wood + cave.

Suggestions please!

crays can be aggressive towards one another.

don't keep bottom dwellers with them, keep fish that stay at the top for the most part and aren't slow and can escape him. no long fins, easily nipped.

when they shed there shell, they're soft and easy victims for cichlids. most people keep them alone, or with fish meant as feeders.

maybe someone can come up with something for you.

good luck, nice cray by the way

Remember the dude is Uk and gallons here are larger. Our 20 gallons are about 25 of yours. 1 UK GAL = 4.54LITRES

i had 5 crayfish that ate all my plants, but never messed with any fish. i had lots of places for them to hide, and have mostly big fish. whatever you do though dont get a dwarf frog........ it will become eaten!!!

on the topic of blue lobster ....has anyone heard of a guppy transporting an egg?!?!?!? i bought some guppies to try to breed(didnt work) and weeks later found a baby crayfish, i figured it must have come from my other tank that actually has crayfish. anyway i put the baby in the big tank and to my surprise a few weeks later saw it almost fully grown and bright blue!!!!!i thought it was pretty crazy
