Tank Paint

Hi All,

I was just wondering what kind of paint I should be useing to paint the rear panel of my tank ( external ).

i have used rustoleum pro grade gloss black on two tanks without any problem. just make sure when you paint the tank it's empty of fish and water and let it fully cure before adding water and or fish.

In the past I have used enamel spray paint from an aerosol can, just make sure you mask off everything you're not intending on painting really well otherwise you will have the problem of overspray. Make sure the glass is clean before you paint it, two or three coats should do the trick. Also, apply the paint lightly so as to avoid any runs.

Regular latex paint in cans should work fine. I painted my 55 gallon tank while it was fully stocked and it worked like a charm.

If your talking about painting the rear glass pane for the blacked out look I would use any latex that way if you decide you don't like it it easily peals right off.
