This is an introductory offer for the Tank Planters Large Planter 2-Pack. Tank Planters are comprised of a container with a threaded bottom covering that holds plant roots along with nutrient-rich substrates to create a favorable rooting environment. Tank planters work best with rosette-form or bulb plants that have sturdy root systems, such as Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Aponogeton and Crinum. After a time many roots form in the planter.
The Tank Planters Large Planter 2-Pack includes our second-largest planter cup size, which is about 3" in diameter and has enough volume to hold a large, robust aquarium plant. The planter screens (below, lower left) line the inside top surface of the planter cups, holding the plant and substrate sturdily in place. The Large Planter 2-pack also includes four Soil Caps (below, lower right), which serve as a slow-release nutrient source when inserted in the planter cup during planting. The detailed instruction sheet explains how to grow aquarium plants with your Tank Planters. .
Also packaged the 2-pack is a portion of our new Planter Soil sufficient to plant up both planters. Planter Soil includes naturally-sourced soil and clay-based particles and also provides slow-release plant nutrients.
The Tank Planter offers limited root run for plants, so it useful for controlling the size of plants that can become too big in the aquarium environment, especially Echinodorus and Aponogeton varieties.
