Simplify Aquarium Gardening--Grow Your Plants in Tank Planters

Free and Reduced Rate Shipping Available

This is an introductory offer for Tank Planters. Tank Planters function as submersible plant pots that hold plant roots along with nutrient-rich rooting substrates. Here is shot of a Tank Planter with a rooted crypt plant.

Tank Planters are convenient. Since they are easily moved around in the aquarium and hold the aquatic plant + substrate as a self-contained unit, Tank Planters are useful for a number of aquarium situations, including the following:

  • bare-bottom tanks
  • boisterous fish, especially cichlids
  • coarse aquarium gravels that provide poor rooting conditions
  • underwater plants in ripariums
  • beta bowls and other small, low-tech setups
  • container ponds

The underwater plants in my 50-gallon riparium setup are all planted in tank planters and have been growing in them for months with little special care. The sand/gravel substrate in that tank is deep enough to hide the planters for a natural appearance.

After a time many roots form in the planter. The planter substrate is comprised of a natural forest soil combined with other slow-release nutrient sources. After a time the plant may begin to deplete nutrients inside of the planter, but it is easy to remove the Tank Planter threaded bottom covering to add a few more nutrient pellets.

Tank Planters work best with rosette-form or bulb plants that have sturdy root systems, such as Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus and Crinum. They are available in three different sizes to accommodate a wide range of different kinds of plants. I am listing two different combination packs with this post Tank Planter combination packs with this offer, the Mini Garden Combo Pack and the Large Planter 2-pack. This picture shows a representative assemblage of items included with each combination pack, including (clockwise from top right) soil-based planter substrate, Tank Planter, planter screen, time-release nutrient pellets.

An instruction sheet it also included in each pack. Here is a quick review of the planter models in the two combo packs.

  • Mini Garden Combo Pack TWO Medium Tank Planters, THREE Small Tank Planters
  • Large Planter 2-pack TWO large Tank Planters

The smaller planter works well for plants that grow to about 7" tall. Plants will grow to about 10" in the medium planter, while the large planter will hold large plants growing to 18" or taller. Please ask me if you have any questions about suggested numbers of planters or anything else.

I have calculated two different (reduced shipping!) offerings for the Mini Garden Combo Pack.

  • ONE Mini Garden Combo Pack ($17.10) with $2 (reduced!) USPS Priority Mail shipping $19.10
  • TWO Mini Garden Combo Packs with $1 USPS Priority Mail shipping $35.20

Here are the current offers for the Large Planter 2-pack, with free shipping if you purchase two packs.

  • ONE Large Planter 2-pack ($13.70) with $3 USPS Priority Mail shipping $16.70
  • TWO] Large Planter 2-packs with $1 USPS Priority Mail shipping $28.40

Thank you for considering this offer! Please respond into this thread or with a PM if you have any questions.

Cheers,
