tank question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
umm, they grow around 1-3" a month a 120 would last you a while, but once they hit 18" they slow down. so anything around 18" wide would be good for awhile. but anything 24" wide would be better.

If you don't already own a tank, you better get one 6 foot long by 2 foot wide, I think a 150 gallon has these dimensions once you aro gets to be 2 foot long you'll need to go bigger. If you currently have a smaller tank make sure the length is at least 3x and the width is greater than that of the fish.

In my opinion you could keep the following but realize these fish can grow 3" in a month so you need to be ready. up to 10" in a 55g, 15" in a 75g and 18" in a 125g

I currently have my 11-12' in a 75g and he will be moving to a 125g by the end of January and then a 250 gallon this summer. His final home will be a Monster tank that I will atempt to build in the basement next winter my plans are for a 10' x 4' x3' tank.

I hope this helps if you are thinking of getting a arowana but will not be able to do at least a 6' x 3' x 2' tank, there are lots of other wonderful fish to go with.

I've never heard of a BEGINNER Arowana...

Bigger the better, in the end it would be best to have 3 foot wide tank or more (assuming it is a silver). Which means custom tank which equals big bucks. Aros are great fish but they will cost you.:(
