Background - 180gal w/40gal “king of diy special” sump - 6 kelberi bass (6in) - 1 clown loach - 1 bichir.
i purchased a 180gal a couple years ago, finally able to set it up (6/29). Had a 60gal to grow out bass until 180 was ready. Transferred fish, and threw all of the media from the canister filter into my sump. Added some “bottled bacteria” to make sure everything went smoothly....(it didn’t)
July 7th, was the last time everybody was eating well. by the 9th all 6 are huddled in a corner, showing almost no colors, and not eating. Loach and bichir seem normal. Tested my water and ammonia is at 2, if not higher. (Had been doing weekly 25% water changes). I immediately did a 50% water change. Went and bought AmGaurd, and some more Stability. Adding both, and daily 25-50% water changes.
nothing has helped. Ammonia levels are still just as high. fish are still huddled in a corner, and now have white splotches (not ich) mainly on their head and back.
I am at a loss of how to proceed, other than keep doing water changes and hope I can cycle before they die. I can post pics of tank, fish; sump; test results if need be.
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
