My friend works as a glass installer and recently got 5 pieces on 3/8th thick glass they did not use on a job for free. Now we would like to build a tank with it but have no clue where to start with a "frame rig" to build it in. Can anyone help with some ideas/drawings or sites that would have such a drawing. Thanks in advance for any help!

Edit: Sorry forgot to tell you all 5 pieces are 44" x 21"

Let me just say this. without having at least two pieces cut you're not going to be able to make a tank with this glass. Or you'll need a 6th peice to cover all the bottom.

As for a jig I would just make one out of some used 2x4 you might have laying around. just make sure they are perfectly square.

Awesome! Thanks for all the help! Cutting the glass will be no problem as my friend installs glass and has all the tools to cut it. I put all the dimensions in on the garf page and now know what size we need and how it needs to be cut. This tank will be started soon I will keep everyone posted on its progress. It will be roughly 177 us gal.

will 3/8 glass be enough to hold 180 gallons?

i would not be able to sleep at night having a tank that many gallons with 3/8 glass

my 210 glass i is .5'

i think most tanks above 180 are built with .5' of glass
