I've got a 75 gallon tank that I just purchased and currently in the process of cleaning/making sure it does not leak. I live on the 6th floor of a new apartment complex, I was planning on putting it against one of the main walls. I have a matching wooden stand that came with it, and the tank has a center plastic piece for support. Do many of you keep tanks in higher floor rooms? Anybody think this is a safety hazard? Also, thinking of using pool filter sand as a substrate, is that stuff usually white/fairly lightly colored? Thanks!

the living room and near the front door are going to be the more supported areas. and because its a new building its probably very strong, i beleive youll be fine

hmm unless your filter breaks and water leaks overnight........ or your tank comes crashing down so 75 gallons of water seeps to your neighbors below....... you'll be fine =P
