I want to know if there is any other salt that you can put in a tank after a w/c. I just did a 25% w/c and when i put in the chem I was looking for the salt and then realized it had finished on tuesday. So is there anything other than aquarium salt that I can use? Cant get any more aquarium salt till Sunday.

What!? You serious, here I am worried cause i thought you were suppose to put some everytime you do w/c. So I wasted salt when ever I would do w/c?

By adding salt to the water every w/c you are building up the fishes tolerance to the salt making it less effective during a treatment. If you have parasites you would also be making them more tolerant to the salt making it harder to treat.

It won't hurt this once on a 25% water change. I'm taking your using 1 tablespoon (5ml) to every 10 litres (sorry if you use gallons) so if you factor in that water evaporates, but salt doesn't, so you're nearly always a little up on the salt anyways. You may even be running less salt, in which case, its less to worry about. Just my advice, but don't worry too much about it. I have a barramundi (can live in brackish or fresh) and a pleco (would prefer fresh I think) and I've left the salt out once with no ill effect.
