Hi fishkeepers,

I am new to the hobby and I just want to ask for your professional advise.

I currently have a 90 gallon tank with these fishes, 2 crossback arowana, 10 moba blue zaires frontosa, 1 pleco and 3 parrot fish. Now my question is, is this overstocked? if yes then I would sell one aro and the parrot fishes.

the arowanas are like 11 inches each.
frontosas are 7-8 inches
pleco is 8 inches
parrots are 3-4 inches.

Thank you in advance for all the advise.

what is your filtration and water change schedule? do you test your water?
I have 1 fx6, 1 aquaclear 110, 1 fluval c4 and 1 sponge filter. I change my water twice a month 1/3 every water change. Also, i keep ammonia level to 0.0 and sometimes 0.3 at most. PH is around 7. Is this acceptable?

I'd say your tank is fully stocked with the 10 frontosa.
It will soon be too small for the Arowana.
and the parrots (if they are not true parrots, but the mutant manmade kind) will soon become too aggressive for, and probably start harassing the frontosa.

would you suggest to get rid of the other aro? and the 3 parrots? I would want to keep one aro and the 10 frontosas.

With that stock, and a water change schedule of only 30% twice a month, i'm staggered that you're not having real problems with your water quality. I agree with duanes, you're probably maxed out with the fronts alone.

90 Gallon is around 350liter right?? thats a tank thats 1,2meter

So first of all moba blue zaires frontosa Are tanganyika... those guys need a special tank with only tanganyika cichlids.
And they get around 30cm... thats 1/4 of your tank. If u wane keep them in a good tank, buy a bigger tank.
90 gallon is not enough for parrotcichlids
not enough for arowana's. And probably not enough for a pleco. But depends on your type of pleco

I would seriously redo your stockings. It's a mess, sry to say so but its the hard truth
The best option is or to buy a bigger then and remove 80% of your fish because they aren't a good combination. Or to do everything away.

I see. Thanks for the advise. I will try to get rid of the parrots, 1 aro and pleco.

an arowana gets around 40cm if im right... thats 1/3 of your tank. You should really remove all your fish or buy at least a twice as big tank. And then still you should remove all the fish except the frontas. After that you can add more cichlids from Africa
