ok so Ive been watching the site for a while now, but becouse my computer sucked ars I hadnt done alot of things that I wanted to with it like actually introing myself and joining in on the fun. let me start by saying that this is a great site and Ive already started applying some the stuff Ive learned here, so thanks to everyone who makes this possible. Now for my question, I just moved into my first house with my wife and kids its a rental but its a start. I currently at my moms have a 60 gal tank that I used to growout 2 peackockbass now about 5" each, one tiger oscar hes at about7", a senegal bicher which is around6" two gars one spotted 8" and the other is a more common, I dont know its name but it maxes out at 10-12" and hes about 8" now and finally one convict hes the smallest about 4" I plan on using a 200gal minimum (bigger if I can get the wifes permission) to house the 2 bass, oscar, the bicher and the spotted gar then I would leave the 60 for the other two and maybe get the convict a mate to make food whenever I feel like feeding live. will this work also what filtration do I need for a 200g tank? sorry I know its a lot of reading but your info is greatly appreciated :)

Howdy and Welcome back!

I have a 220 gal, and I am very happy with the Eheim Pro 3  Make sure to use good biomedia, about 2/3 of the canister volume. This filter is a powerhouse!

i was thinking of making my own wet dry filter but I want to know how strong of a pump is needed and what size filter you would recommend? thanks for the suggestion though, what do you think of the fish considering the adult size, is this too many or is this still ok?

I have a 240 with 2 overflows and 2 returns.I use 2 mag 12 pumps one for each return.I also have a heavy stocked cichlid tank

mag 12 pumps? who makes them and what kind of gallons per hour are we talking about? Thanks.
